About me

What do you need to know? My name is Jessica. I like to be private but have a great ability to overshare. This will impact on the non-fiction pieces and blogs I post on this website. I am a writer based currently in Cornwall, but who knows where I will go from here. I have an interest in humans, our stories and our interactions, in knowing others and myself. Because if anyone should know who I am best, it’s me, but in all honesty, I am a fickle, ever-changing being who I can’t quite pin down. I love to write, to create characters and discover their uniqueness and the elements of their personality I have stolen from myself and those around me.

I chose the title for this website, ‘Is it true enough?’, because even in the non-fiction writing I will post here, I am relying on memory and coming from situations almost always from my own perspective, which can never fully be the truth. I never lie outright in these pieces, but to what degree do we lie to ourselves or misremember? In my fiction work, I aim to create pieces that feel true to life. The worlds and the characters may not be real, but their experiences will be ones we recognise. There will be a truth to them.

For now, that is enough about me and what I aim to do. Hopefully, my work will reveal more to you, and most likely, I will reveal more about myself in the process.
